closer

I know I've been vague about the most recent issues that were making us "wait" even longer for this whole crazy adoption process to move forward.

I can be clearer now, because we have another hurdle, behind us.

When we won at trial - the ruling was "appealed" by our birth father.

After he appealed (which was really just a signature saying he was appealing), he did nothing else. Still, he had to be allowed time to do - something. Anything. He missed his first deadline. Then his second. Doing, nothing.

He was given MORE time (hence the waiting that I was vague about), in case he wanted his dismissed appeal, reopened.

Then he was given even more time - in case he wanted to appeal to somebody else, to reopen his dismissed case.

Waiting and waiting and waiting, for all these dates and deadlines, to pass.

That's what we've been doing.

Yesterday, a very important paper was issued. It stated that the ruling at trial, which was in our favor, GLOWINGLY in our favor, STANDS. The ruling stands, period. There are no more appeals, no more deadlines, no more waiting. We won.

NOW...... Once we get that paper in our hands, or rather our NC attorney gets it in HIS hands..... we continue the process, here in NC.....

But all the birth father trauma.... the grand mother trauma......

That part is behind us.

We are that much closer.
